K12 Keynote: Connected Learning - New Directions?
In a connected, on-demand society, learning is everywhere, and just a few keystrokes away. Cisco works closely with schools to respond to the demand for new learning approaches that help prepare the next workforce, and promote social equity.
Connected Learning solutions facilitate the highly secure, convenient, real-time interaction school communities expect. They help build a safe environment, enhance administrative efficiency, and improve access to engaging, lifelong learning opportunities.
This presentation will discuss the variety of innovative connected learning solutions available to the Australian K-12 sector right now, as well as what could be possible in the not so distant future.

Joe McIver's Biography
Joe McIver joined Cisco Systems early 2011 as Director Education Solutions for Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Cisco, Joe was the Chief Technology Officer at the University of Wollongong, and has a total of 17 years in ICT industry, including 12 years within the Education sector. Joe has also served as an elected board member of CAUDIT (Council of Australian University Directors IT) and currently serves as a director on the board of CEDARS Christian College (K-12) in Wollongong. The experience gained in these roles has contributed to Joe’s deep understanding of the Education Sector.
Joe is passionate about the innovative use of existing and emerging technologies to enhance and enable teaching, learning and research. Joe is married with 2 young boys, and is a semi-professional musician in his life outside of IT. |
