QUESTnet Workshop - Data Centre Networking
QUESTnet Workshop - Data Centre Networking
22-23 September 2011
There is a great deal of interest and activity around the networking of servers and storage in data centres.
This workshop aims to explore what the major vendors are offering as solutions to this and to provide an opportunity for universities to exchange information on:
• How they do data networking and storage area networking in their data centres ie. Architectures and equipment in use?
• What changes they have planned?
• What has worked for them, and
• What hasn't worked for them and what they wouldn't do again?
• What changes are required to be more responsive to user demands?
• What changes are required to people skills and linkages between traditional data networking and systems/storage staff?
• Whether they are converging their storage area and data networks? How? When?
The workshop will be held at the Lismore campus of Southern Cross University in P Block Room 160. There will also be an opportunity to tour their recently updated data centre.
