With a constantly changing landscape of technologies and the demand of students to leverage the technology they use every day to aid their learning, it can be difficult for learning institutions to separate fact from fiction.  During this workshop, Dell and VMware will demystify the landscape and provide a detailed overview of how the available technologies can be utilized to enable the dynamic delivery of University learning resources to students.  The goal of this session is to provide a deep dive into the enabling technologies to:

• Deliver University Learning Resources to Students – What content can I deliver to students?  How do I provide a University “App Store” like experience for students?  How do I support BYOD within the University?  What support overhead will I have if I pursue BYOD?
  
  

• Provide a more flexible Computer Lab Environment – How do I better utilize the computer lab resources I have today?  How can I minimize support overhead for my existing computer labs?  What can be done to achieve a more flexible lab environment?  What support is there for high Graphic users?  How do I better support different learning needs? What can be done to extend the investments I have today?
  
  
• Provide better support for Library computing resources – How do I contain the cost of supporting these public spaces and the library systems? How do I ensure maximum availability of library resources?  How can I extend access to Library systems off campus?

• How to better support University Staff – How can I drive down the cost to support staff?  What can be done to ease future operating system and application upgrades?  How can I provide staff with more flexible off-campus access?

The workshop session will include not only an architectural overview of the key components and technologies required to achieve each use case, but also a demonstration of as many of the above as time allows.
