Matthew Mengel is the Senior Network Administrator with Information Technology Services at the University of Southern Queensland. After completing his degree in 1992, Matthew worked at the Maryborough College of TAFE, teaching computing and looking after parts of the small network at the College. In 1994, he joined ITS at USQ as a Microcomputer Support Officer, eventually being appointed Network Administrator in 1997 after kind of evolving into the job. He is responsible for the USQ corporate network, and services such as the university's dial-in services, email gateway, DNS and whatever else crosses his desk. In the past 12 months, the major project in the networking area at USQ has been the rollout of the new ATM-based campus network, in which Matthew has been heavily involved.
