QUESTNET `95 Call For Papers
============================

Introduction
------------

QUESTnet `95 will be held at Bond University on Queensland's Gold Coast
from September 6 to September 8 this year. The conference will provide
a forum for the presentation and discussion of topics related to
networking in Australia. With the absence of an event such as the AARNet
NetWorkshop, QUESTnet `95 will be the de facto "networkshop" for the
academic and research community of Australia.

Papers
------

Submission of papers to be presented at QUESTnet `95 is now invited. The
conference will offer two streams of presentations: "Hard Technical" and
"User Services". For a paper to be presented in the "Hard Technical" stream
it should provide information on applications of new technologies,
innovative implementations or other similar technical subjects. Papers
providing details of end-user service provision, user training, case
studies of service deployment and other such topics should be submitted
for presentation in the "User Services" stream.

Vendor product announcements and blatant commercial advertising are not
appropriate for either stream and will not be accepted. Product related
information may however be presented in a BOF if there is enough interest.

Birds-Of-a-Feather Sessions (BOFs)
----------------------------------

Facilities will be made available for 1 hour BOFs at the end of each days
presentations and possibly during the lunch break if the demand requires
it. The BOFs are an avenue for like-minded people to gather and discuss
particular topics of common interest. BOFs may be held to discuss a
particular technical issue, a user services problem, applications of a
particular software package or any other topic that is of interest to a
group of people. If you wish to organise a BOF or would like to suggest
a topic please send a mail message to QUESTnet95@Bond.edu.au.

Form of Submissions
-------------------

Please indicate whether your submission is relevant to the "Hard Technical"
or "User Services" stream. In either case, submissions are required to be
in the form of an abstract and an outline. Please provide sufficient detail
to allow the committee to make a reasonable decision about the final paper.
A submission should be from 2 to 5 pages in length and include the
following details:

o Author name(s), postal address, telephone and FAX numbers,
and e-mail address.
o A Biographical sketch not to exceed 100 words
o A 100 word abstract of the paper
o An outline of 1 to 2 pages giving details of the approach
or algorithms pursued and conclusions reached.
o Audio-visual requirements. Microsoft Powerpoint slides for
either Macintosh or IBM PCs is the preferred format.
Provision will also be made for overhead slides.
Handwritten or typewriter generated slides will not
be accepted.

preparation of the final papers for distribution to the delegates and the
format requirements for slides.
