Re-Imagine the Desktop: The Future of End User Computing in Education Services
Bruce Perram and Kevin Middleton, VMware and Blake Carney, Griffith University
Date: Tuesday 10 July 2012
Time: 9.00am - 5.00pm
The mobile and cloud era dictates anywhere, any device, access to applications and data within and outside the firewall, and introduces fundamental new challenges to the traditional enterprise security and management models. This session will discuss how these challenges can be addressed by re-inventing end-user identity and application management as a cloud service, and discusses an easier way for IT and end-users to embrace the emerging new way of working. We’ll also discuss the management of multiple access credentials, a necessity brought about by the growing number of cloud apps now found in every Education Institute, coupled with the traditional enterprise applications and the emerging mobile applications. In addition, VMware will share previews of emerging technologies being developed which enable IT to provide end users with secure access to data and collaboration services, from any device.
