Jean Turgeon's Biography
Jean Turgeon is currently VP, Avaya Networking Portfolio & Solutions Strategy responsible for all Avaya’s Enterprise data portfolio. His current role consists of providing strategic directions for R&D investment in building competitive Enterprise data solutions. Prior to this role, Jean was the Sr. Director of Business & Technology Strategy for ENS (Enterprise Networking Solutions) building solutions for Campus, Data Centre & Unified Branch Solutions. He has a broad knowledge with 28 years of experience in networking designs and implementation. This knowledge ranges from various technology starting from SNA, Word processors, Optical, Security, WLAN, WiMAX, LAN & WAN technology, Unified Communications, business applications, SOA framework and data center solutions to name a few with both global service providers and enterprise customers. Jean brings a wealth of expertise that enterprise customers and partners greatly value. Jean also has an MBA which combined with his technical background enable him to lead the Enterprise data portfolio and its future development.
Prior to joining Avaya via the Nortel Enterprise Solutions acquisition which has also acquired Bay Networks Jean was working at AmeriData & Bell Technical services as a Senior Network Architect, Advanced Technical Instructor as well as technical support manager. Jean and his team of Global Product Line Managers are working closely with global account teams and selected partners to drive revenues while providing design recommendations for solutions such as for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics network.
Jean now manages a global team of 20 Senior Product Line Managers who are responsible for providing strategic directions and investments to deliver a highly competitive portfolio. Jean and his team are globally recognized and represent the core of Avaya Data Solutions business unit.
In addition to internal Avaya activities, Jean has been a featured speaker at various events such as CIO summits, N+I in Tokyo & Las Vegas, Distributor Alliance Council, INNUA/Global Connect conference, numerous global partner conferences, Nortel Enterprise Technology Forum (NETF), QUESTnet, Global Connect/INNUA, numerous customer and partner Executive meetings for Enterprise solutions positioning and differentiation as well as interfacing with analysts on various technology and business requirements. |
