Ubiquitous Communication - It’s Only as Good as the Message
We are in a world where messages can flash around a community incredibly quickly – and where the viral nature of communications can vastly magnify the impact of a good – or bad – story. It’s a world where a student can opt to learn with your university from the far side of the continent, without ever setting foot on your campus, and where they can get the attention of a wide audience if they feel slighted by anybody’s service.
In that kind of environment, how do you keep the ship steady from an IT perspective? How do you avoid your lives being overtaken by the constant fire fighting, and get the support you need for your strategic service delivery right across your institution? I’ll share stories from my own background, and from Microsoft’s experiences, to give ideas for cutting down the noise and increasing the value that your colleagues see from the critical role that IT plays in your university.
