Software Defined Networks, onePK and a New World of Custom Network Applications

onePK is a software development kit that allows developers to build, automate, and scale new and existing applications and services across the entire network infrastructure, faster than before, while controlling what can be utilized or accessed within their network. This session supplies an overview of the different concepts present in Software Defined Networking (SDN), discusses contributing technologies and some ideas on the types of applications that are now possible to develop in and on the network.

Richard Pruss' Biography
Richard Pruss is a Principal Engineer in the Architecture Group of the Cisco Network Software Services Technology Group (NSSTG).  This team designs many of the systems, features and protocols in Cisco network operating system. His long standing professional interests centre around identity, access control, features control, network control, and policy control of network services.  Richard has a long history with networking technology, that includes building South Africa’s first national government-owned ISP and working with various European service providers before joining Cisco to work on OS's. 
Richard is now working hard on delivering William Gibsons cyberpunk vision of the network as a space into which programs are loaded.
