The Use of iPads in a Multi-User Based Environment

The continuous demand on usage of iPads as an educational tool has elevated its status within multi-user environments. Staff and students have severely promoted the usage of iPads, due to its simplicity and versatility. At the Australian Catholic University we had implemented a system to allow the usage of ten (10) iPads per library for all six (6) campuses. That's a total of 60 iPads, which needed to maintain a university ready configuration, as well as privacy and security for each user after their loan session of two hours. Each iPad maintained an extensive list of applications that could potentially be used by every student on a class to class basis. The purchase, installation and use of these applications brought a different challenge as every stage of the project. The design, development and implementation of the project proved difficult, but achievable. This Paper will submerge you into the planning, developing and configuration of iPads in multi-user environments, as well as the effect of an iPad as an Enterprise ready device.
