Providing IT networks to the researchers – can we support a la carte?
QUT is now supporting a greater number of research activities and current IT offerings are becoming increasingly inadequate and/or inflexible. The demand for specific IT network requirements has led to the need for bespoke solutions, which generally deviate far from standard offerings. This can then lead to considerable support and funding issues into the future.
The researcher today will see the standard menu offerings and see nothing they like - they prefer and most often expect a À la carte menu!
This presentation will look at the challenges faced in providing IT network solutions to the growing research community.
