Service View

“IT service reporting, costing & monitoring the solution adopted by The University of Queensland.”

Getting information on IT services is always a challenge for IT managers and executives.
Service view is a single, simple solution that records and models the interactions and interdependencies of complex IT architecture. By leveraging this information, the ServiceView application can determine the impact of outages, model costings and plan for disaster recovery.

This includes the ability to:
• Record and graphically present usage capacity and availability information.
• Automatically communicate outages to stakeholders.
• Model service and data centre dependencies.
• Automatically compile disaster recovery reports for varying scenarios.
• Monitor services from a client perspective including KPI reporting against service availability targets.
• Provide accurate total service costs which include staff and other service costs.
• Able to forecast IT service spending for five years

Service view offers all this information via an easy to use web browser. In the 18 months it has been running at UQ it has proved instrumental in service management, disaster recovery planning, service costing and budgeting.
