A journey down the application virtualisation path in student PC labs at QUT
Alison Davis and Gordon Howell
‘Twas the month before Christmas and all through the place
the buildings were falling at such a great pace!
Soon students were coming, the labs were too few,
the clock was a-ticking, so what could we do?
Consultant was chosen with help from the Dell
the apps were a-piling; the task looked like hell!
The staff were soon leaving, to rest for a while.
They needed some training of practical style
When up from the south he arrived with a clatter
and ThinApp was chosen to deal with the matter.
He trained and he helped- time flew like a flash!
The apps were soon virtual with hardly a mash
He ran to the plane, and to us gave a whistle,
And away he then flew like the down on a thistle,
But we heard him exclaim, ‘ere he flew out of sight
“Happy launching to all, and to all a good byte!”
