The United States and Australia have recently embarked upon very ambitious initiatives related to broadband: for the United States, this has taken the form of the National Broadband Plan; for Australia, this has taken the form of the National Broadband Network. Both plans will have a significant impact upon the economic growth of both countries, but the specific details of each broadband initiative will determine the impact in each country. What are the similarities between the two initiatives? What are the differences?
