Expanding Classroom Walls to the World

Dr Barbara Penson

With the assistance of Clever Network Funding from the Department of Broadband Communication and the Digital Economy (DCBDE), Independent Schools Victoria has successfully collaborated with AARnet to provide access to over 100 rural and regional schools to high speed broadband. With the number of schools joining the ISVnet project increasing rapidly and the provision of specialised services growing, the model demonstrates the power of collaboration to achieving success to develop a VPN.

Dr Barbara Penson's Biography

In addition to formal qualifications, including a Doctorate in Business Administration, Barbara has had extensive experience in collaborative shared service projects. She has successfully developed and grown business opportunities through drawing groups together to achieve benefits beyond those attainable individually. This has enabled the Independent School sector in Victoria to optimise the network capabilities and services to ensure the 221 member schools and their 127,000 students have access to the wide range of experiences that broadband connectivity can provide in the 21st century.
