Martin Stone's Biography

As Senior Manager and Multi Media Projects Manager for Curriculum Corporation, Martin has a close involvement in the QA of multi media content for Curriculum Corporation projects, as well as keeping a close liaison with latest innovations in technology that could be applied and or incorporated into education resources, particularly those emanating from the Learning Federation project.

Martin has over 20 years experience in education communications, employing a broad array of media including interactive multimedia, exhibitions and displays, print, video, television and on-line delivery. He has extensive skills in project management, multimedia concept development, developing varied content for electronic applications and developing specific content for delivery in varied electronic media and a demonstrable commitment to education and in particular school age education.

Initial academic qualifications in science (microbiology) and secondary education (math, science, biology, environmental science) have been extended by wide industry experience in video, interactive and web communication. Martin has a range of skills including conceptualising, instructional design, content research, editing and developing resources in several electronic media.
In his current position as Senior Manager he works in both The Learning Federation and Curriculum Projects units on a range of projects including the creation of innovative digital resources and education applications, sourcing content from Australian Universities for licensing to Australian Education through the TLF, facilitating cross unit relationships to maximise the distribution, contextualisation and distribution of TLF digital curriculum resources and the national high profiles resources developed by the Curriculum Projects unit on behalf of the commonwealth government and other major clients.

In his previous role as Senior Manager, Teacher Services - for the Learning Federation (the most extensive project ever undertaken collaboratively by the commonwealth, state and territory education departments) he headed a small unit working to promote and contextualise TLF online content and provide support to Australian teachers in their endeavours to embed digital content into new and evolving pedagogy.

Prior roles have included: Executive Producer Multimedia at Curriculum Corporation; writer, researcher and concept designer for Magian Multimedia; Interpretation Officer for Melbourne Water; and researcher/associate producer for ABC-TV Open Learning project, Children's Education (BTN) and the Natural History Unit.
